---Abe's Radio shack

Few official records of how the SIAM group actually performed its function are available, but the letters Abe wrote home contain some procedural details, which surprisingly made it past the censors. Manifests, and equipment receipts, that he kept and carried home, fill in more of the picture.
Gleaned from the paperwork my dad retained, and brought back to the states, here’s a summary of what was in his “radio shack”:
 
The Basic Gear
12 HF receivers
1VLF receiver
2 VHF receivers
2 HF transmitters
6 encryption converters
3 AC 110-220v generators
9 headsets
1 loudspeaker
2 telegraph keys
Antenna kits for whip and long wire set ups
Field telephone sets
 
Pots, pans, water cans, tables, chairs, gasoline fired cook stoves, tents,  7 cots, axes, and shovels.  
 
Everything you’d need for a comfortable June Field Day operation, plus some extras:
 
1 machine gun
1 mortar launcher
and
1 handgun----
